The Central Florida Marine Corps Birthday Ball is an annual event that celebrates the establishment of the United States Marine Corps on 10 November, 1775.

Wherever two or more Marines are stationed, our Birthday is celebrated. The ceremony for the celebration is prescribed in the Marine Corps Drill and Ceremonies Manual and includes the republishing of our 13th Commandant, General John A. LeJeune’s Message.

A traditional cake cutting ceremony is an integral part of the evening’s festivities. The first piece is presented to our Guest of Honor. The next pieces are given to the oldest and youngest Marines present.

The passing of the cake from the oldest to the youngest Marine symbolizes the passing of history and traditions to the next generation and the experience and youthful spirit that are hallmarks of our Corps.
