The Central Florida Marine Corps Foundation proudly offers scholarships to honor the service of Marines, their families, USMC JROTC Cadets, and US Navy Corpsmen. Our scholarships are a commitment to support the educational aspirations of those who serve our nation. By easing financial burdens, we aim to pave the way for your academic and professional growth, honoring the legacy of dedication and excellence in the Marine Corps community.

We would like to inform you that the application period for the 2025 CFMCF Honor Courage Commitment Scholarships is now closed. Thank you to everyone who applied! 🌟

The winners of the 2025 scholarships will be announced in May 2025. Stay tuned!

 

🎖️ Scholarship Categories:

  • Marine Scholarship: For active duty or reserve US Marines or Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen who have served at least 6 months and received an Honorable or Medical Discharge.

  • Family Member Scholarship: For the son, daughter, grandchild, or spouse of an active duty or reserve US Marine, or a US Marine who has received an Honorable or Medical Discharge, or a US Marine who died while serving in the US Marine Corps.

 

🏆 Scholarship Amounts:
Five scholarships will be awarded in the following amounts:

  • $2,500

  • $2,250

  • $2,000

  • $1,750

  • $1,500

2025 Scholarship Recipients

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

    • a. An active duty or reserve US Marine.

    • b. A US Marine who served at least 6 months and has received an Honorable or Medical Discharge.

  • Provide a copy of your DD214 with your application.

  • Applicant must provide proof that he/she currently resides in one of the following seven Central Florida Counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, or Volusia.

  • Applicant must be in the process of applying to or attending as a student at an accredited junior college, four-year college, university, or an accredited technical or vocational school/course. (NOTE: Proof of accreditation can be a link to the school’s website that shows state or federal accreditation.)

1. Applicants must meet one of the following four criteria:

 

a. The son/daughter/grandchild/spouse of an active duty or reserve US Marine or of a US Marine who received an Honorable or Medical Discharge or who died while serving in the US Marine Corps.

  • Provide the Unit Name and Address for a Marine presently on active duty.

  • Provide a copy of the former Marine's DD214 or discharge paper(s).

 

b. A student enrolled in a Marine Corps Junior ROTC program.

c. An active duty or reserve US Marine FMF Corpsman who serves, or has served at least 6 months, with the US Marine Corps.

  • Provide with your application the name of the Marine Unit and your dates of service with that Unit.d. US Marine FMF Corpsman who has served at least 6 months with the US Marine Corps and has received an Honorable or Medical Discharge.

  • Provide with your application a copy of your DD214 and the name of the Marine Unit and your dates of service with that Unit.

 

2. Applicant must provide proof that he/she currently resides in one of the following seven Central Florida Counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, or Volusia.

3. Applicant must be in the process of applying to or attending as an undergraduate student at an accredited junior college, four-year college, or university.

*It is a "best qualified" criteria and not all applicants who applied will receive a scholarship. The number and amount of scholarships awarded is based on the committee’s evaluation of the applications received. The committee will notify all scholarship applicants in writing once the selection process is completed. Note: Proof of acceptance and/or enrollment will be required prior to actual award of scholarship funds.

Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station Orlando

Major Galadyk is a native of Colonia, New Jersey. He graduated from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where he played NCAA Division II football and wrestling, with a BA Degree in Criminal Justice in 2010. In October 2013, Major Galadyk attended Infantry Officer Course and graduated IOC Class 1-14 in December 2013. In 2014 Major Galadyk checked in to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines and was assigned as Lima Company Weapons Platoon Commander. He deployed with the battalion in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) where he served the additional billets of the Fire Support Team Leader and Chief Maritime Navigator. In 2015 Major Galadyk served as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander and deployed with the battalion in support of the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan. In 2016, Major Galadyk reported to the Marine Barracks Washington, 8th and I where he served as Rifle Platoon Commander, the Silent Drill Platoon Commander, Guard Company Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer. In 2019 he reported to Geiger Hall to attended Expeditionary Warfare School and completed the course as a distinguished graduate and recipient of the General John A. Lejeune Writing Award. In 2020, Major Galadyk took command of Company B, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines deploying his company twice in support of the South West Border Mission and as the Air Assault Company for the 11th MEU. In 2022, Major Galadyk assumed the billet of Battalion Operations Officer and deployed in support of the 31st MEU 24.1 Fall Patrol. In July 2024, Major Galadyk assumed command or Recruiting Station Orlando where he is currently serving.

Emanuel Pelaez $2500
Emanuel Pelaez is a 20-year-old Junior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with a minor in Aviation Law and Homeland Security. Born in New Jersey and raised in Medellín, Colombia, he moved to the United States with his family in search of greater opportunities. While in high school, he dual-enrolled at Valencia College, earning his associate’s degree alongside his diplo-ma. After graduating early, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves, where he currently serves as a Corporal. During his service, he has held leadership roles such as Squad Leader, Scribe, and Second-in-Charge of the Color Guard at School of Infantry, East. His achievements include a Certificate of Commendation for Academic Excellence during MOS school and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance as a Funeral Honors Team member. Emanuel’s academic and military experiences have fueled his passion for aviation and nation-al security, and he aspires to become a Marine Corps aviator, combining his leadership skills and aviation expertise to serve his country in a dynamic and challenging role.

Owen Black $2250
Owen Black is currently a junior at Boise State University, where he is studying Business Administration with two minors, one in Military Science and the other in Entrepreneurship. He is currently an ROTC cadet and has plans of becoming a helicopter pilot in the Army. Last semester, he was recognized for the top of his class in the ROTC program. Owen is also a founding father for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, where they host activities and fundraise for the Ability Experience, a non-profit for those with disabilities. On top of all of this he works for the City of Boise, currently as a supervisor at an ice rink. When he isn’t at school or work, he likes to spend time with his friends, playing sports such as a lacrosse or staying fit and preparing for his Army career. From a young age, Owen has looked up to his Mom and Dad for their Marine Corps service and has been committed to serving on his own.

Jacob Roberts $2000

Jacob Roberts is a 19 year-old Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps Reserves. Jake grew up admiring his Vietnam Veteran grandfather and always wanted to follow in his footsteps by serving. Jake was an Air Force JROTC cadet in the Melbourne High School and he held several leadership positions while in the JROTC program. In his senior year, Jake joined the Marine Corps delayed entry program and he went to boot camp the summer after he graduated from high school. Upon returning to Melbourne after graduating from boot camp, Jake embarked on a journey to earn his AA degree from Eastern Florida State College as efficiently as possible. By taking many CLEP exams and 5 courses at EFSC, Jake earned his AA in 4 months with a 4.0 GPA. He is now a student at the University of Central Florida where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating with his BSME, Jake hopes to become a design engineer for a defense contractor while continuing to serve as a Marine Corps Reservist.

James Captain $1750

James Captain is a freshman at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and received an Associate of Arts from Eastern Florida State College. Alongside his academic achievements, James is deeply involved in extracurricular activities. He served as second squad leader for the Marine Option Candidates at ERAU and has participated in many volunteer events that the unit offered. James’ passion for community involve-ment extends to his role at his local church, where he serves as a Lead Teacher for the summer camp program. James’ aspirations extend be-yond college, as he starts looking into the future and considering the kind of leader he wants to become. With his strong foundation in leadership, academics, and community service, he is determined to uphold the core values of honor, courage, and commitment as he pursues a career as a Marine officer.

Adyson Bowling $1500
Adyson Bowling was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and is the daughter of Ronald and Kimberly Bowling. Her father served in the Unit-ed States Marine Corps as a tank commander and is currently a CID Special Agent in the Army. She is a senior at Mulberry High School and will graduate with high honors this May. She is in the top 1% of her class with the hopes of becoming the salutatorian. While in high school, Ady-son did many sports and activities. She was the varsity cheer captain for three years and played tennis, golf, and weightlifting. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Ath-letes, and Book Club. For the past three years, she has been the year-book editor-in-chief for The Mulberry Tree. In the summer between freshman and sophomore year, she launched a five-star Etsy shop, called Magnolia Makings. This creative adventure allowed her to make and sell beaded
